After a long wait that seemed endless, the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake is just around the corner. If you are one of those who can’t wait to play, you better get ready and start freeing up space on your hard drive. We say this because, apparently, the download file will be quite large.
How much will the Resident Evil 4 remake weigh?
According to data from the Xbox store, the new version of Capcom’s classic survival horror will occupy approximately 67.18 GB on the console’s hard drive. While it’s far from the massive archives of titles like Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, it’s still a weight to consider.
In comparison, Resident Evil 4 Remake weighs more than twice as much as Resident Evil Village (30.66 GB), a title that debuted at the beginning of 2021. On the other hand, the renewed version of Ashley and Leon’s adventure weighs three times more than Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (23.64 GB). Finally, the remakes of the second and third installments weigh 23.07 GB and 28.75 GB, respectively.

Capcom’s next release is shaping up to be the heaviest game in the action-horror franchise’s history. While some players will be in a bind and need to delete other titles and apps to free up space, the weight highlights the work the developers put into bringing the 2005 classic into modern day.
Without a doubt, the Japanese studio did the impossible and managed to improve a title that was perfect and a fan favorite. In fact, the directors confessed that at first they did not want to do the remake because the original game is “a masterpiece.” However, they took this opportunity to improve some elements of the gameplay and narrative.
