PARIS, 07 MAR – The sixth day of mobilization against the French government’s pension reform, that of the unions’ go for broke, with roadblocks on many provincial roads as in the days of the “yellow vests” has already started tonight who seek to bend the determination of Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne. More than 260 demonstrations are planned across the country against the law to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64, more than a million people are expected to take to the streets. Since the early hours, the CGT has announced that all transport departing from the refineries have been blocked, a decision that seems to prelude the decision to prolong the strike, the government’s most feared threat, indefinitely. “The goal is for the government to withdraw its project – insisted the secretary of the CGT, Philippe Martinez, interviewed by France Info – it has been our goal since January 19th. The responsibility lies solely with the government. We cannot remain deaf to the social movement”. (HANDLE).
