Football star Daniëlle van de Donk has extended her contract with the French top club Olympique Lyon until mid-2025. The 31-year-old midfielder, a permanent fixture in Orange, signed a two-year contract in the summer of 2021.
“Daniëlle clearly feels good with us,” Lyon wrote with the contract news. “She’s here to stay.” Van de Donk posed in the stadium with a shirt with the back number 2025.
Almost two years ago Van de Donk exchanged Arsenal for Lyon, one of the best clubs in Europe in recent years. “I’m ready for the next step, so proud to be playing for this great club,” she said at the time.
Lyon is the leader in the French league. Later this month, Van de Donk and her team will take on Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
