Floor flies from hot to her with Nightwish. Especially after the corona pandemic. She’s had a hectic time. “And somewhere in between breast cancer was also diagnosed and I was operated on for it,” the singer, who gained even more fame in the Netherlands through her participation in Best Singers, looks back at Beau. “And then just keep going, so that was incredibly tough.”
Three weeks after her operation, Floor was back on stage. “I can’t recommend that to anyone, but that was also a bit of a post-pandemic thing,” explains the fit artist. “We postponed that tour for more than two years and then it wouldn’t be possible again. That would have been really intense if that wasn’t possible. So I let my doctors try to advise me, because so often they advise a touring metal singer well not even after a cancer operation, from gosh: yes or no?”
And during that eventful time, she gets pregnant. “Somewhere my body and I must of course also be able to recover from it mentally. So that makes a pregnancy extra beautiful, an extra confirmation that my body is just healthy. If you want to get pregnant and you just succeed, you will be incredible happy about it. And I really am.”
Floor’s first solo album Paragon will be released on Friday. The pregnant singer does not have time to enjoy it in peace. The next day she flies to Japan with her band. And from Japan to the Philippines and then back to Sweden. Earlier she indicated in the AD that they show this planning of the band’s management ‘unforgivably stupid and of little respect to me’. But in Beau, she makes it clear that she still fully enjoys the dreams she is making and that she wants to continue until her maternity leave. “Staying healthy, you never know. You can’t plan that, last year’s cancer proved that again. I love what I do and that I can also be pregnant.”
Below you can hear Floor sing her song My Paragon live for the first time from her solo album of the same name.
Floor impresses with her song and voice. “What a voice,” it sounds. And, another viewer suggests: “I say Floor Jansen to the song festival!
Do you want to see Floor Jansen live? Fortunately, the world artist will also set foot in the Netherlands this year. On July 8 she will perform in the open-air theater Caprera in Bloemendaal and on December 8 she will be in AFAS Live.
