Who is the mole?
The Belgian version of Wie is de Mol? started a brand new season last Sunday. This program differs slightly from the Dutch version. In our own little country, only well-known stars participate, but in Belgium it is precisely unknown participants who give it a try. In 1999 the program also started in the Netherlands with unknown participants. The celebrities made their entrance in 2005.
While the Belgians can enjoy a new episode on Play4 and GoPlay every Sunday at 8 p.m., the Dutch have to wait a day. Every Monday a new episode will appear on NPO Start.
The brand new Belgian season was filmed in Arizona this year.
Buy Without Looking
The Belgian version of Buy Without Watching is called Blind Purchased and can be seen at Videoland. Blind Purchased has four seasons, of which seasons one, three and four can be seen on the streaming service.
In the program, home seekers completely outsource their search for a home. Where in the Netherlands Martijn Krabbé and his team of professionals look for a suitable home for house seekers, in Belgium it is up to estate agent Béa Vandendael to find a suitable home for the people. The presentation of the program is provided by Jani Kazaltzis. In the first season, Dina Tersago was the presenter of the program.
Married At First Sight
In addition to Blind Purchased, they also have Blind Married in Belgium. That is the Flemish version of Married at First Sight, which consists of seven seasons. (In the Netherlands there are eight.) In Belgium things seem to be a little less dramatic than here. In fact, it looks like more love affairs are coming out of the show. What is also different from the Dutch version is that one season does not have twenty, but only ten episodes. Cohabitation is also different in the southern neighbours. According to the Belgian matchmakers, the couples only really get to know each other when they live together and that is why they have to spend seven weeks together in a rented apartment. In the Netherlands, the cohabitation process is nowhere near seven weeks, because the Dutch couples take turns staying at each other’s homes for a short time.
Seasons five, six and seven of Blind Married-Married At First Sight Belgium can now be seen at Videoland.
Hunted
In Hunted, several well-known Dutch people flee in duos and try to evade the investigation team. This team of professionals consists of specialized investigative experts with experience in the police, defense and private sector. In Belgium the program is called Klopjacht. Here 12 Flemings try to live in hiding for 17 days. However, the Belgian program does have some differences with that of the Netherlands. For example, the rules of the game in the Netherlands seem to be somewhat stricter.
For example, the Dutch candidates are not allowed to use their own funds and are given a bank card on which they can only spend 50 euros per day. The Belgian participants may use their own bank cards or cash. However, this is at your own risk, as withdrawing money may reveal their location to the investigation team.
At NPO Start there are now eight episodes of Klopjacht.
