As Marvel Studios studies how to mitigate the decline the Marvel Cinematic Universe appears to be experiencing, production on new movies and series continues unabated. One that has just entered its shooting phase is the fourth solo Captain America movie.
After nearly a decade playing Steve Rogers, Chris Evans ceded the baton —and the shield— of Captain America to Sam Wilson in Avengers Endgame. But it wouldn’t be until Falcon and the Winter Soldier that Sam would accept the heavy burden of putting the shield on his back.
With that new role for Sam Wilson already accepted, the next Captain America movie will offer new “solo” challenges for Marvel’s new old hero.
The film will feature Harrison Ford as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Rossreplacing the late William Hurt, already Tim Blake Nelson like the doctor Samuel Sternsalias Leader.
Filming for Captain America: New World Order has already started
Just Jared has shared some images from the filming of Captain America: New World Order in which you can see Anthony Mackiein plain clothes, in West Virginia, although the movie is being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia, where Marvel Studios has its base of operations for almost all of its productions.
The images also show us some aspects of the decoration of the Smyth’s Dinera typical American restaurant that appeared in the Captain America comics in the 90s.
the plot of Captain America: New World Order remains a strict secret, so as not to lose the tradition of Marvel Studios of not revealing anything about their upcoming projects.
After the start of Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Although Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been somewhat lukewarm, especially at the box office and critical reception, there is interest in seeing how the House of Ideas resolves this supposed superhero fatigue.
Captain America: New World Order is scheduled to be released in theaters in May 2024, with the challenge of dodging the long shadow of Chris Evans’ character.
