After the national and international successes in offroad (16 in the last two years alone, between enduro and motocross), Fantic has decided to test itself in a completely new terrain. For 2023, in fact, the Kalex with the black, red and gray liveries of the Barzago company will be lined up on the grid of the most famous circuits around the world, which will race in the Moto2 championship with Celestino Vietti and the Spanish rider Borja Gomez. Thanks also to the partnership signed with the VR46 Racing Team, fantic makes its debut in the intermediate class and aims at a very specific goal: that of making young motorcycling talents grow.
Celestine Vietti #13 will face the third season in the Moto2 class, the sixth in the World Championship, where he boasts a total of five victories, thirteen podiums and four pole positions. He made his debut in Moto3 in 2018, getting on the podium in the second race, in the Phillip Island GP. After having impressed well in the entry class of the World Championship, his debut in Moto2 ™ arrives in 2021, where he affirms his qualities. In 2023 Celestino will have the opportunity to confirm himself at high levels.
Here are his words:
“I couldn’t wait to get going again after a longer than usual winter break. I couldn’t wait to see the guys in the garage who are the same as last year, like the bike which is a Kalex. In short, the atmosphere is good. I enjoyed the tests, where we worked a lot. Now we just have to start the 2023 championship “.
borja gomez#72 on the other hand, with the exception of last year’s appearance at the Moto2 GP in Malaysia, is making its debut in the World Championship. Turning 18 in February, he conquered a Spanish title in the Superbike championship, in the Supersport category. From this year the Spanish talent will have a full-time opportunity paired with Celestino Vietti, in the Fantic Racing team.
Here are his words:
This will be my first season in MotoGP and in the Moto2™ class. I approach it with a great desire to learn. I have to get familiar with the bike, learning new things also thanks to the technicians and mechanics. I want to improve as much as possible, race after race, without pressure.”
The words of Mariano RomanCEO of Fantic Motor:
“This is undoubtedly a milestone for Fantic. We want to demonstrate that the soul of the company is racing and competitions are the best way to do it. It is an important challenge that we are excited to take on!”.
