Sumatran voice – The Pertamina Plumpang depot caught fire some time ago. As a result of this incident, dozens of people died while several were injured.
In line with this sad event, a number of confusing news circulated.
One of them is a video which claims that the house of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok was set on fire by a mob following the fire at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot.
This information was recently shared by a YouTube channel called CCTV POLITIK.

The title of the 8-minute video is as follows:
“AHOK’S HOUSE WAS BURNED BY THE MASS !! WIFE AND CHILDREN BECOME KORB4N || LATEST NEWS”.
In the thumbnail of the video, there are a number of masses in front of the house with flames.
So is it true that the claim that Ahok’s house was burnt by the mass following the fire at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot?
EXPLANATION
Based on investigations, the news that Ahok’s house was burned as a result of the fire at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot is hoax information.

In fact, after searching using the Yandex image search engine, an identical photo was found in the Medanmerdeka.com article entitled “Clashes Break Out Again in Belawan, 1 House Burned Out”, on January 11, 2022.
Then referring to the entire content of the video, the video clip shows Minister Erick Thohir alluding to the removal of Pertamina’s directors.
You can also see Erick Thohir’s video asking for a thorough investigation into the Pertamina Plumpang fire. The video was uploaded on YouTube KompasTV.
Furthermore, the video also shows Jokowi inspecting the TPPI Petrochemical Refinery, Tuban, December 21 2019. During his visit, Jokowi was accompanied by Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, and Chief Commissioner Ahok. The video was uploaded to YouTube by the Presidential Secretariat.
The narrator in the video reads from the rmol.id site. Regarding the pressure to remove PT Pertamina’s Main Director, Nicke Widyawati, and Main Commissioner Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok, the impact of the fire at the Depot in Plumpang, North Jakarta, has emerged.
CONCLUSION
There was no news in any media regarding the burning of Ahok’s house as the Main Commissioner of PT Pertamina for the fire incident in Plumpang.
Meanwhile, the thumbnail image used is also not related to the claim. Videos with these narrations fall into the category of misleading content.
