Five years have passed since the “90’s Pop Tour” undertook its first concert tour, causing great acceptance in the public, because it is a concept that brings together some of the most outstanding voices of three decades ago.
Over time, the tour produced by BOBO Producciones, was renewing its cast with the invitation of various artists of the time; however, there are some musicians who had fully prevailed within the show, one of them was Erik Rubín who, together with Aleks Syntek, Caló, Fey, JNS, Litzy, OVZ and The Sacados believed in the potential of the project from the beginning.
During the second stage of the show, Rubín took a break and Beto Cuevas and other famous artists such as Irán Castillo, MDO and El círculo entered in his place. For the fourth return of this tour, the Mexican musician returned to join the show, but, this time, in the company of Benny Ibarra, his friend and Timbiriche’s former partner.

Erik’s departure was announced by Celina del Villar, Benny’s wife, who arrived on the red carpet at an event for “Quién” magazine. According to the model, said concert represented the last participation within the “90’s Pop Tour” not only by Rubín, but also by his partner, as both are about to embark on the “Cumbia Machine Tour”.
This event was undertaken, for the first time, by Erik Rubín last year and now he is ready to resume it, in the company of 13 different artists, so everything would indicate that the departure of the musicians was not due to the physical approaches that existed with Apio Quijano, a member of Kabah, with whom both pretended to kiss during one of the songs they performed on stage.
For Del Villar, the rumors that have linked Erik and Apio, unleashing the version that it was an alleged romance between them that triggered the separation of the singer with the host of “Today”, they only make him laugh, because he considers that if those sayings were true, they would kiss everywhere but on a stage, surrounded by thousands of people.
