Epic has released a new way to generate income through its popular video game Fortnite, beyond playing it on Twitch streams. This is Unreal Editor, a “Creative 2.0” that allows you to create scenarios within the battle royale. As indicated on the developer’s website, Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) “is a new PC application to design, develop and publish games and experiences directly in Fortnite. Over time, UEFN will evolve to include most of the tools available in Unreal Engine.”
“In today’s public betas, UEFN enables a wide variety of gameplay and experiences, from highly stylized flat-shaded teamfights to ultra-realistic simulations, running on the version of Fortnite you already installed,” he says. Epic.

In detailing how the Creators Economy 2.0 will work, Epic has explained that with this new method, the different creators will receive money based on the participation with their content published on the island. “Participation payments proportionally distribute 40% of the net income from the real money Fortnite Item Shop to all island publishers on a monthly basis,” the statement said. That is, 40% of Epic’s revenue will be reserved for those publishers and creators.
Epic further highlights that UEFN will work in parallel with Fortnite’s existing Creative toolset, allowing creator teams to work together from their PCs and consoles to develop and test islands in real-time.
