Sumatran voice – The escape of Andi bin Baso Jarre has ended, a convict who escaped from the Class I Detention Center in Makassar since September 1 2022.
Andi was arrested at his hiding place in the Gontang area, Tanjung Merdeka, Makassar City, on Saturday 18 March 2023.
Head of Makassar Class I Detention Center Moch Muhidin said Andi’s whereabouts was revealed after information was received from the Resmob Team of the Tamalate Police who conveyed that there were residents who had characteristics like those of an escaped convict.
He then ordered the Head of the Rutan Security Unit Andi Erdiyangsah Bahar and the team to carry out profiling to ensure the truth of the information received.

“From the results of the profiling, we believe that the person suspected is in fact prisoner A. Then we will immediately coordinate with the police team to make an arrest,” he said, launching Antara Monday (20/3/2023).
When he was arrested, Andi behaved uncooperatively, trying to fight the officers. Officers also provide firm and measurable action.
“Prisoner A was shot in the leg because he resisted the officers and tried to escape when he was about to be arrested,” he explained.
Officers then took Andi to Bhayangkara Hospital for treatment on Sunday, March 19 2023 in the morning.
“Thank God he’s fine, he’s getting treatment and at that time we handed over to the police to bring him back to the detention center,” he explained.

“The convict goes to the detention center to serve the remaining one year of his sentence. The person concerned gets sanctions for revoking his rights, such as remission, parole, parole or assimilation because it has been recorded in Register F or a record of violations of the prisoner’s rules,” he said.
