The new patch adds support for the long-awaited ray tracing that improves graphics using the ray-traced ambient occlusion and ray-traced shadows. Unfortunately, there is no support for ray tracing reflections and Nvidia’s DLSS which would improve performance. In conjunction with Elden Ring’s GOTY win at the Game Developer Choice Awards, a very important feature has been added. The weight of the update on PS5 is 5GB, due to the addition of precompiled shaders, while on PC the Elden Ring update is only 200MB.
Ray Tracing support has been added for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC versions.
Ray tracing can be activated in the settings menu:
PS5/XSX: Game Options > Ray Tracing
PC: Graphics > Ray Traced Quality
Note that performance, such as frame rate and resolution, may be affected when playing with ray tracing enabled. The minimum and recommended technical specifications for using Ray Tracing can be found at the end of the patch notes.

Changes in this section do not affect single player or co-op play in Elden Ring.
The power of the Inexorable Frenzy spell and the grip angle have been increased.
Lifesteal Fist’s skill power, range, and grip angle have been increased.
Decreased the power of two-handed jump attacks.
Decreased the power of heavy and heavy dashing attacks of Fist and Claw weapon types.
Decreased the power of the Founding Rain of Stars spell.
Decreased the spell boost effect of the Magic Land spell.
Decreased the damage and balance damage of the Golden Wave skill when hitting an opponent within a certain distance.

Lifesteal Fist: Target grappling range increased.
Surge of Faith: Increased the speed of projectile generation.
Flame Spit: Increased the guard speed and amount of blocking of the skill. Changed the angle of the fireball.
Tongues of Fire: Increased the guard speed and amount of blocking of the skill.
Great Oracular Bubble: Increased the speed of projectile generation and reduced the recovery time.
Viper Bite: Reduced the time before shooting is possible after using the skill.
Shriek of Milos: Increased balance damage at close range.
Spearcall Ritual: Increased the speed of projectile generation.
Cursed-Blood Slash: Increased the speed of projectile generation and reduced the recovery time.
Gold Breaker: Reduced cooldown.
I Command Thee, Kneel!: Increased the speed of attack generation.
Starcaller Cry: Increased the speed of subsequent attacks.
Spinning Wheel: Increased the speed of attack generation. Added roll and heavy attack cancellation timing while using the skill.
Fixed a bug where the Scarlet Rot status buildup was not properly reflected when giving the Antspur Rapier an affinity for cold.
Fixed an issue where the Scarlet Rot status buildup was not properly reflected when giving Rotten Greataxe a Blood Affinity.
Fixed an issue where some attacks from Partisan, Death Ritual Spear, and Lucerne had unexpected attack damage scaling.
Fixed a bug where the Nightrider Glaive was not increasing the damage of mounted attacks.
Fixed a bug where Duelist Greataxe and Rotten Greataxe weren’t increasing the damage of charged attacks.
Fixed an issue where the Roar Medallion Talisman effect was not increasing the power of some spells.
Fixed an issue that reduced the power of some skills during the Gold Vote effect.
Fixed a bug that caused the effects of the Royal Knight’s Resolve and Resolve skills when cast from a left-handed weapon to be added to other skills cast from a right-handed weapon.
Fixed a bug that reduced the critical strike power of right-handed weapons while Royal Knight’s Resolve or Resolve was active on a left-handed weapon.
