More and more companies are communicating their decision these days do not participate in E3 2023. After Microsoft, Nintendo e Ubisoft, today it’s up to SEGA, Tencent and Devolver Digital.
A spokesman for SEGA has in fact confirmed to the editorial staff of IGN that the company does not intend to be present at the Los Angeles event: “After careful analysis, we have decided not to participate in E3 2023 as exhibitors. We look forward to sharing more information on announced and unannounced projects in the near future.” A similar comment was provided by a Tencent executive, who stated that the Chinese giant will not be at E3 with the publishing label Level Infinite.
As for Devolver Digital, however, the indie publisher has never officially participated in E3 inside the showfloor, but has still organized a side event in the parking lot in front of the Convention Center. This year, however, the satellite initiative will not be repeated. However, the company says it will broadcast the now customary Devolver Direct in June.
In any case, there are just over two months left for E3 2023, which will be held from 13 to 16 June, but an official list of the companies that will attend the event has not yet been communicated. With the departure of many publishers, both large and small, the future of E3 looks anything but rosy.
