time does not pass for Destiny 2. Since its launch in 2018, Bungie’s multiplayer shooter has been exploring different adventures for the Guardians, and little by little the final confrontation between light and darkness is coming to PC and consoles.
It will be in 2024 when the last expansion of Destiny 2 arrives, known as the final formwhich will narrate the epic denouement of the science fiction plot orchestrated by Bungie.
At the moment, since yesterday the penultimate expansion for the title is available. Destiny 2: Eclipse explores the corners of the city of Neomuna (in Neptune), and also incorporates other playable news as well as more changes.

Eclipse is available for both PC and PlayStation and Xbox, at a price of 49.99 euros. It’s also Bungie’s first step in fixing some issues in Destiny 2.
As expected, the launch of Destiny 2: Eclipse has unleashed a media earthquake, driving the game’s player numbers to unsuspected limits.
Eclipse is a new triumph for Destiny 2
It already happened a year ago with The Witch Queen, but this time all possible records have been broken. As of yesterday, February 28, the Eclipse (Lightfall) expansion is available to all Destiny 2 players.
If we take a look at SteamDB (portal that collects statistics and game data from Steam), we find that Destiny 2 has broken a new record for simultaneous players.
After the release of Eclipse, we can say that Destiny 2 has reached a new peak of 316,750 concurrent players on Steam. If we add their figures on the Epic Store and consoles, then we are facing an even more overwhelming success.
Currently (as of this writing) there are more than 194,000 users rocking Destiny 2 on Steam. Of course, it must be said that a free version (F2P) is also available.
Not necessarily 100% of these users will be playing the Eclipse expansion, but it’s a nice boost to Destiny 2’s numbers on PC.
It is also striking that 24 hours before Eclipse launch, Destiny 2 has already reached 200,000 concurrent players. The fandom of the title was eager to enjoy another chapter in the adventures of the Guardians.
