The accident happened around 4:30 am. The bus, with a group of Britons on board, hit a pole at high speed on a bend. The vehicle then ended up on its side. No other vehicles were involved in the accident. It is not clear why the minibus was going so fast
The 18 occupants were taken to hospital. Apart from the seriously injured child, all suffered minor injuries.
