ROME, 06 MAR – Daniel Harding is the new musical director of the Orchestra and Chorus of Santa Cecilia. The 47-year-old British maestro will take office in October 2024 with a five-year contract, taking over from Antonio Pappano, at the helm for 18 years, who will remain as conductor emeritus from next season. This was announced by Michele Dall’Ongaro, the superintendent of the National Academy, introducing the new director. (HANDLE).
