Cosmica Editorial bets strongly with Mad Market, a comic with a large dose of humor that will place us in a dystopian future
Cosmic Editorial presents us with an excellent presentation of his first comic of the year, Mad Marketof Roman Lopez-Cabrera y Marina Armengol.
The year is 2053. Decades ago, supermarket staff, fed up with the working conditions and uncivil behavior of customers, started the so-called Cashier Revolution. Now they control the establishments and the means of distribution with an iron hand and there is no mercy for those who do not comply with the basic rules of behavior.
Laura, a girl whose grandmother has thoroughly prepared her to face all the risks that are hidden behind the automatic doors of the Mall Marketis about to discover the danger of not behaving with respect and education.
Mad Market He continues our line of “underground” comics with which he shares the cover design that Román did for Octobriana and the Soviet Avengers.
The comic has our usual format, 17x24cm, in soft cover and does not have flaps. There are 70 color pages, which include a Bamf prologue! y afterword by Jennifer Armengol.
Román López-Cabrera and Marina Armengol work together to present us this comic that is born from the biographical but that does not hesitate to make the leap to the dystopia and humor to reinforce the points they want to convey. The social complaint puts on the leopard suit and boxing gloves so that we cannot escape the reality of people who work in the service sector.
This is the fourth title that we have published with Román, who is also the author of Sangre en el suelo and Octobriana (both collective works) and La Confesión. This time he changes scriptwriter to develop this story together with Marina, which opens in our catalogue.
