The next few days, Friday April 21 and Saturday April 22, the Sinaloan singer-songwriter Pancho Barraza will perform in concert at the Telmex Auditorium as part of his “Leyenda en vida” tour. Besides, He recently published his single “No creo deserverte” to the rhythm of a mariachi, dedicated especially to his wifebut it can also be a song dedicated to God and his audience.
THE REPORTER spoke with the singer about these presentations and this topic available on digital platforms: “Last year we did three (auditoriums) but This Sunday the 23rd is already scheduled for the Palenque de Aguascalientes. The connection with Guadalajara is the vocabulary that my songs have and the respect that we have given each other through the years”, she shares.
In addition, he emphasizes that neither of the two concerts that he will offer will be the same, since he likes to lead the baton while the show progresses and thus realize where people give themselves so that the emotion does not drop.
“Everything is a surprise, mainly the show. I change the shows knowing how I’m going and where I’m going, I look for what to do with what I already have, which is a lot of music. So what I do is move it according to the emotions that I imagine people have.”
Highlight that It doesn’t matter if it’s about playing with a mariachi, a banda, or a norteño, “the thing is that you put each instrument you put in at the right timeBecause then you feel when you’re not doing things correctly because people’s emotions drop. Because even I can have my eyes closed and I feel the euphoria of the people, I hear their voices and their songs”.
He also anticipates that the great guest of both evenings is the public, but it usually happens that musician friends come to his shows and that they even call him that they are going to go and then he looks for a way to invite them to the stage and that they shine on top of him.
Pancho will be celebrating 32 years of musical relationship with the people of Guadalajara: “They have given me the love beyond what I deserve.” The tour began at the Arena Ciudad de México. And regarding how emotions vibrate from a palenque to an auditorium, he says that it is easier to control the former, “because you have a 360 degree vision and it is easier to move in it, in a circle, and the closeness of the people is of 30 meters”. On the other hand, in an auditorium as the good musician that he is, he has to find a way for the audience in front and behind to vibrate in the same way.
On the name of the tour “Leyenda en vida”, he notes: “Not just any crazy person dares to wear it.” He confesses that with 32 years of experience, it is the people who have followed him in this time who can express whether or not he can give himself this nickname. “The one who is going to criticize and value it is you (the public), but if you don’t go to see the show, it will be difficult for you to have a concrete idea of whether it was worth it for the individual to put on the name ‘Legend in life’.”
