The Colombian singer-songwriter Fonseca will be visiting Guadalajara next Thursday, April 20, he will arrive with his tour “Viajante Tour” at the Diana Theater, at 8:30 p.m. sharp. By the way, THE REPORTER spoke with him about this presentation where he will be singing the most recent songs from his album that gives the tour its name, although there will also be time to review his hits.
Express for example that “Traveler” is also a word that symbolizes his first 20 years of career in music.: “I wanted to celebrate the path traveled, and when I found (the word) ‘Vajante’, I said… ‘That’s what I want.’ And what we have covered has been very nice, since the middle of last year with the tour; We have been to many places and I am very excited to return to Mexico, to travel to Guadalajara and to arrive at the Diana Theater on April 20.”
Now in our city, Fonseca will celebrate the first anniversary of his album, which includes collaborations with Matisse, Greeicy, Cali and El Dandee, as well as with Silvestre Dangond and Cimafunk, in addition, of course, to celebrating his years of artistic career: “The joys that has brought ‘Viajante’ they have been incredible and the show is really very special, because I chose the most important songs of my career, we literally made a story, to tell those 20 years from beginning to end. So, it’s a concert where people sing you the songs from top to bottom, it really is a very special moment of celebration and party”.
Regarding these two decades of work and constantly traveling the world, we asked Fonseca what meaning he gives today to this “Vajante” that he is now and to the “Vajante” that he was yesterday. “When I was looking for that word that would give meaning to this trajectory, I came to find that the traveler, unlike the traveler, moves from one place to another being as it is and that is where I said that my love, my respect and my admiration for music is something that I have kept intact throughout this trajectory and that is why (that the word) describes my feeling towards music and up to this moment in my life”.
Regarding the musical evolution in his career, he highlights that it has always been a constant work of experimentation. “It’s not being afraid of experimenting with different genres, not being afraid of playing with music and getting into different sound worlds, and ‘Vajante’ is without a doubt that, and I’m already working on what will be my next album; in fact, we have just released a live video of the songs from ‘Viajante’, which for me is a very important message, because launching a song like this, that is… let’s disconnect our heads a bit from social networks and from so much technology and live the world live and direct. So, I have been able to tell my life through the songs, what I am and what I say in each one of them”. Even, he does not rule out at some point doing something in the Mexican regional.
“Mexico in my career has meant a lot, from a personal, musical and cultural side; I identify myself and I really enjoy life there and whenever I am there it is enriching for the soul and the musicso coming back with ‘Vajante’ means a lot”.
Finally, on the boom of Colombian music in the world, where the biggest stars are coming out of there, and embracing the Spanish language above all, Fonseca responds: “For us it means a lot, taking the message of what Colombians really are to Through our music, it has been very important. I have always believed that through music, one can realize what a country and its people are like.
