BEIJING – A dramatic case of mistaken identity has left a family in China very surprised.
Reports say an elderly man emerged alive nine years after his family believed they had cremated him following a car accident.
In 2014, Zhuo Kangluo was confirmed dead after a car accident. He was found on the side of the road after escaping from a nursing home in China
Both family and friends have identified the body by the roadside as him. After the accident, Zhuo’s nephew decided to cremate his body without an autopsy.

Nine years later the surprising appearance of an old man acting ‘strange’ shocked the family. His behavior caught the attention of Chongqing authorities in August, according to China News Network.
Reporting from the Daily Mail, Wednesday (1/3/2023), officers initially struggled to identify the man given his refusal to answer questions. But the DNA test results on Tuesday reportedly matched those of Zhuo Kangluo’s brother.
Nine years ago, a man who died in a car accident was mistakenly identified as Zhuo by relatives and villagers.
