The 2D animator and freelancer Matias Lagunas published on his Instagram account an audiovisual piece based on a scene from the classic Japanese film Akirastarring on this occasion, by the characters of 31 minutesa program that celebrates two decades of its first broadcast.
The animation recreates the scene from the final minutes of the film, in which Tetsuo, after being shot by Kaneda, loses control of his body and powers and begins to mutate into a giant mass. The characters are respectively replaced by Mario Hugo and Juan Carlos Bodoquewith the appearance of Patana as Kaori and Tulio Triviño as Colonel Taisa.
“I finished this animation and it just coincided with the 20th birthday of @31minutos” adds Matías on his @Mati_lagunas account with the collaboration of @cyan.waves, who was in charge of the sound design. The work already has more than 30 thousand reproductions, two thousand likes and hundreds of comments approving the work.
The animation had a very positive reception
