At the beginning of March, Bloober Team revealed a new concept art of the nurse, one of the most iconic and popular monsters in Silent Hill. In general, the design is quite similar to what we saw in the original title from 2003, but there is a change that did not go unnoticed by the players.

They are subtle changes and, without a doubt, the idea of the first design remains there. However, a sector of the community could not help but wonder what the decision behind this change is.
This weekend, Masahiro Ito, legendary artist and designer of Silent Hill 2, took to social media to discuss the monster’s new look. So, he states that he changed the design because he was told that the nurse in the original title “showed too much skin.”

“As for the image of the nurse that Bloober Team shared, it is concept art. I made her wear stockings because it was pointed out that the original nurse exposed her skin too much. In addition, this is “a new version,” explained the prestigious Japanese designer on Twitter.
Apparently, the players welcomed the change with open arms and indicate that the essence of the character remains intact; At the end of the day, we have to remember that the nurse has a very deep meaning that reflects James’ troubled psyche. Even so, there were those who claimed that the developers censored the original design to adapt it to a new audience.
