Thanks to the work of CD Projekt RED, The Witcher became one of the biggest RPG franchises in the industry. Thousands of fans are eager to see more of this universe on consoles and PC, something that the Polish studio is willing to deliver. That said, he’s also committed to quality, which is why he canceled a new Witcher game to reboot it.
It was recently revealed that CD Projekt RED decided to make a radical change to the multiplayer project that The Molasses Flood, a studio known for The Flame in the Flood, is working on and which is called Project Sirius and takes place in the universe of The Witcher. Many wondered why they made this decision and the company has already made it clear.

On a recent call with investors, Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of CD Projekt RED, discussed the situation with Project Sirius, though without giving many details. What he made clear is that it is a different project from the big productions in which they usually work.
“To be competitive, we need to find new ways to extend our franchises. At the same time, we need to be ready to re-evaluate our original concepts, even if development is underway,” he explained.
Later, Nielubowicz explained that making changes to Sirius “was complicated”, but they believe it was the right one. The above since it allowed them to cut the costs of the project and better allocate it in a direction with which he feels comfortable.
So CD Projekt RED is taking a strategy of canceling the games and redirecting them in a direction that they feel works. With this they seek to spend more on ideas that have problems.
What do you think about this new? Do you think this kind of approach will make CD Projekt RED release more and better games? Tell us in the comments.
