SUSTAINABILITY – The concept that Pelligra insists on is “sustainability”. After the post-Covid crisis, many football clubs are in great financial difficulty and the message sent by the red and blue president is clear. In the future, Catania will have to manage itself without forcing the owners to make continuous investments. The academy will also be important and Pelligra has clear ideas: “We will invest in the academy to combine two aspects: the technical-tactical one and the identity one. That is, starting from the youth academy, all the formations will follow the same approach, and then cultivating and making young local players grow in the long run, the first team will increasingly be the expression of the city”.
THE MISSION – The president of Catania Rosario Pelligra, 43, owner of a strong holding company in building redevelopment, has already outlined his plan to bring the elephant back from Serie D to Serie A. Infrastructure is needed (stadium and sports centre), youth sector, a lot of money and a thousand ideas. But with 100 million the path will be easier.
