ROME, MARCH 04 – In 2023, to maintain a car, the average expense amounts to 4,219 euros, up by +4.8% compared to 10 years ago, when the expense for the same items amounted to 4,025 euros. The numbers arrive today from Federcarrozzieri and were disseminated during the national convention of the association of Italian coachbuilders held in Cavenago di Brianza. The item that has the greatest impact on motorists is that relating to fuel – explains Federcarrozzieri – At current price lists and assuming 2.5 full cars per month per car, refueling will cost around 2,784 euros per year, against the 2,622 euros spent on average in 2013 (+6 ,2%). Today, 275 euros are spent on spare parts, tires and lubricants (21.2% more than 10 years ago), while for ordinary maintenance and repairs, the cost rises from 337 euros in 2013 to the current 448.5 euros. (+33%). The raw materials crisis and the high energy cost fell like a boulder on the automotive sector, leading between 2021 and 2023 to a significant increase in the costs of spare parts, paints, technical instruments, and energy costs for the workshops , causing an increase in repair costs – says Federcarrozzieri, who in recent weeks has raised a cry of alarm precisely about the difficulties that Italian bodyshops are going through. The increase for tolls and parking meters was more contained, with annual expenditure rising from 78.6 euros per family in 2013 to the current 87 euros (+10.7%). Car taxes are also growing: from an average of 228 euros per year per car in 2013 to 240 euros in 2023. (ANSA).
