Bulgaria also lost the second qualifying match for next year’s European Championship. The team of national coach Mladen Krstajic lost 3-0 against Hungary in Budapest. Bulgaria, which last participated in a final tournament in 2004, started the qualifying process on Friday with a defeat against Montenegro (0-1). AZ player Milos Kerkez had a basic place in Hungary.
Serbia, with Ajax player Dusan Tadic as captain, won 2-0 against Montenegro thanks to two goals from Dusan Vlahovic. Serbia leads Group G with 6 points after two matches.
In group F, Sweden recovered from the defeat against Belgium (0-3). Azerbaijan was beaten 5-0. AZ attacker Jesper Karlsson came in for Sweden in the final phase and scored once. Austria achieved a late victory over Estonia (2-1) in the same group. Feyenoord player Gernot Trauner was missing from Austria due to a minor injury. PSV player Phillipp Mwene did have a starting place. Austria is the leader after two matches with 6 points.
Poland, with Feyenoord player Sebastian Szymanski as a substitute, achieved a small victory over Albania in group E: 1-0. Karol Swiderski scored shortly before the break. Poland lost the first qualifying match against the Czech Republic 3-1 on Friday. The Czechs now played a draw against Moldova (0-0).
