At the end of March last year, Willis announced that he was retiring from acting: the news raised speculation that he was being forced to work despite his conditions, since in 2021 he recorded “Midnight in the Switchgrass” under the direction of Randall Emmetwho was accused of “labor exploitation”for which he came out to deny the rumors, arguing that the actor was the one who wanted to continue working.
According to international media, in the latest films his struggle was already beginning to be noticed against the disease because during the filming he was unable to remember some dialogues and he was not allowed to spend more than four hours in the studio.
After the harsh panorama, it is now Vadhir Derbez who remembered noticing Willis’s problems when he worked with him to “White Elephant” (2022).
It was in a meeting with the press that Eugenio’s son spoke about his experience.
“I did notice certain things on the set… I had a couple of days that I did feel like… why is he working? You know… What is happening to him is very sad,” he said.
He also added that it seemed like a strong situation for both the actor and the family: “I don’t even want to imagine it,” he said for “Ventaneando”.
