BOLZANO, 08 MAR – “First whoever is illegal returns to legality. Then everything is discussed. The citizens of Valle d’Isarco are also asking for a clean environment and everyone is interested in transferring goods by rail”. This was stated in Bolzano by the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini regarding the restrictions on trucks imposed by Austria on the Brenner axis. “If you have parked your car in the parking space for the disabled and you want to discuss, first remove the car and then let’s discuss how to redo the road system”, he added “Austria first remove the bans for trucks, those of the night, on Saturdays of the categories. I am not sitting at the table with those who are beyond the law and the treaties. As soon as Vienna returns to the civil context of the European Community, we can think about everything: slots, tolls and barriers”. The minister reiterated that he “agrees with his German colleague to request the opening of the infringement procedure against Austria. I hope it doesn’t come to this. We are in agreement with our German colleague and other colleagues to bring some common sense to Brussels, also with regard to the outlawing of petrol cars in 2035 which represents a huge gift for China and damage to the Italian economy and European”. According to Salvini, “the models of Bolzano and Trento teach that green is fundamental, but it must be accompanied over time, explained and financed and not imposed by law”. (HANDLE).
