WASHINGTON – United States (US) President Joe Biden made a strange assessment of his intelligence at a White House event celebrating black Americans on Monday (27/2/2023).
The odd statement came as he credited his administration with the historic first string of African Americans in high office.
“I may be a white boy, but I’m not stupid. I know where the strength is… you think I’m kidding. I’ve been learning about the Divine Nine for a long time,” Biden said at an event marking the end of Black History Month.
Biden has been criticized for lengthy stories before, ranging from claiming in 2022 he had been arrested at a civil rights protest, or an oft-debated story about visiting South African dissident Nelson Mandela.

Still, his cryptic comments about power may be accurate, in that context.
The “Divine Nine” is the nickname given to a society founded in 1930 that represented fraternities and sororities at black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
During the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden argued that he “started with the HBCU, the State of Delaware.”

Many understand that as a claim he attended an African-American school, but he didn’t.
