Bayern Munich has reported to the top of the Bundesliga alongside Borussia Dortmund. The German champion won on Saturday, partly due to a goal from Matthijs de Ligt, 2-1 at relegation candidate VfB Stuttgart. Bayern and Dortmund, which already defeated RB Leipzig on Friday, both have 49 points. 1. FC Union Berlin, which is in third place, now has 5 less.
De Ligt opened the score a few minutes before the break. He did this with a shot of about twenty meters, on which goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow completely misjudged himself.
After an hour it became 0-2. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who extended his contract earlier in the week, completed a nice attack. Veteran and captain Thomas Müller, among others, was involved in the preparation. A few minutes before the end, Juan José Perea scored for the home club.
De Ligt was the only Dutchman in the base at Bayern Munich. Ryan Gravenberch came in in the final phase, Daley Blind remained on the bench.
Union Berlin played a draw against 1. FC Köln on Saturday, 0-0.
