A potential Year 2 update for Battlefield 2042 was spotted on EA’s Origin digital store. Reddit user daniluk400 was able to use the Origin API to check for the existence of the update.
The update currently features the placeholder text “BATTLEFIELD 2042 – YEAR 2 UPGRADE – PC – WW“. The price of the upgrade is apparently 2 euros, but the price could also be a placeholder for the time being. The announcement was last updated on March 17, which means probably this is not an old article left on the Origin servers and then forgotten.
Publisher EA and developer DICE have yet to make any announcements about future content for Battlefield 2042. The game recently kicked off its fourth season, dubbed Eleventh Hour, which introduced a slew of new content.
Battlefield 2042 kicked off Season 4 at the end of February, and DICE has since released no comment on the game’s potential future content. The existence of the Battlefield 2042 Year 2 update could indicate that the multiplayer shooter has another year of content in the pipeline.
