What happens on HBO Max?
Although it has been one of its most important series, its end was announced. “After three seasons of BARRY, we look forward to seeing the powerful, complex and hilarious conclusion to Barry Berkman’s story. It has been a pleasure to work with this immensely talented team, including Bill Hader, Alec Berg, Aida Rodgers and all of the exceptional cast and staff,” said Amy GravittExecutive Vice President of Programming at HBO.
Barry’s cancellation may accentuate the difficult decision of HBO Max of not counting on very long productions. Beyond the eight seasons of Game of Thrones or the three of Succession, few series have lasted so long on the platform. Euphoria is preparing for its third part and White Lotus created an ideal format for other segments. However, it was not the case for Barry.
HBO Max
The situation that the platform is going through may be related to an upcoming merger. The catalog is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and could merge with Discovery Plus. The purpose would be to reduce tax costs and broaden the range of content options.
