The medical staff of FC Barcelona has a new concern. The leader of the Spanish football league saw defender Andreas Christensen return from Denmark with a leg injury.
Christensen sustained that injury on Thursday evening during Denmark’s 3-1 win in the European Championship qualifier against Finland. The 26-year-old defender had to be replaced after 18 minutes. He has since left the Danish camp and has been replaced in the selection by former PSV player Mathias Jørgensen.
Frenkie de Jong was also injured last weekend during the Clásico win against Real Madrid (2-1). The Orange international therefore had to cancel this week for the European Championship qualifiers against France and Gibraltar. The not fit midfielder Pedri also dropped out for the international matches of Spain against Norway and Scotland.
Barcelona’s first game is the league match against Elche on April 1. The Catalan club leads La Liga with a 12-point lead over nearest attacker Real Madrid.
