The open world first person shooter Atomic HeartOf Mundfish, had been in the works for a while, but after a tumultuous development cycle marred by delays and behind-the-scenes issues, the game finally launched for PC and consoles last month. And although it was met with a mixed reception from critics and audiencesseems to be still doing quite well.
Recently on Twitter, the CEO and founder of Mundfish, Robert Bagratunirevealed that Atomic Heart was played by over 5 million players in just three weeks since its launch. That number isn’t indicative of its sales, especially considering the fact that the game is also available via Game Pass, but it’s still an impressive achievement for the shooter. Mundfish also released post-launch patches for the game to iron out its glitches and add requested features, with more fixes also currently in the works.
Atomic Heart is a mix of RPG and action first person shooter with some immersive sim elements. Set in an alternate history of the Soviet Union, it sees players venture into the 3826 facility to stop its rogue robots. Below is an overview via Steam:
The unstoppable technological progress and secret experiments have caused the insurrection of mutated creatures, terrible machines and super-powered robots, who are now rebelling against their creators. Only you can stop them and uncover the sordid truths behind an idealized world. Using the combat skills bestowed by your experimental gauntlet and arsenal of cutting-edge blades and weapons, you’ll have to fight for survival in frenetic and explosive encounters. Adapt the fighting style to each opponent. Combine skills and resources, use the environment and upgrade equipment to overcome each challenge and ensure the supremacy of good.
Atomic Heart is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 e PC and also up Game Pass.
