Appetite comes with eating: the third place achieved by Fernando Alonso in the Bahrain GP has certainly not satisfied Aston Martin’s cravings. The AMR23 was unanimously recognized as the revelation single-seater at the start of the season: the “verdona” conceived by Dan Fallows and Luca Furbatto took some concepts to extremes that even went beyond the choices made by Red Bull.
In the opening race, the Spanish driver proved to be particularly at ease, slipping into unconventional points of the track for overtaking, both Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), although his AMR23 did not seem particularly fast at the end of the Sakhir straights.
