The North Atlantic perturbation (the 9th of the month) which arrived on Sunday in Northern Italy, moves rapidly on Monday 27 March on the Central-Southern regions where it will bring scattered rains and some thunderstormswith phenomena running out almost everywhere already in the early hours of Tuesday.
This new perturbation is followed by a decided reinforcement of cold winds from the north (Tramontana and Mistral), which will cause the flow of an air mass of arctic origin, responsible for a sudden and significant drop in temperatures and the return of a little di snow in the Apennines even below 1000 meters. As early as Wednesday, milder currents will make their way towards the Mediterranean favoring a gradual rise in temperature with values that will return above the average.
Monday 27 rain and thunderstorms in the Centre-South: the weather forecast
In the North-West mostly sunny weather, except for thickening in the Alpine border areas and light snowfalls on the more northern hills. In the Northeast mostly cloudy skies; in the afternoon they are not mutually exclusive short showers and thunderstorms on the Venetian plain and in Romagna. In the Centre, irregularly cloudy skies and scattered showers during the day, less probable in Tuscany and along the coasts; in the evening it gets worse in the Marche and in Abruzzo. Time very unstable in the Southwith scattered reverses and possible thunderstorms, locally intense. Snow quota in the central Apennines around 1400/1500 metres, decreasing in the evening up to 1000/1200 m in Marche and Abruzzo. On the islands, the day was more sunny, except for gatherings and occasional showers in the morning on northern Sardinia and in the afternoon in Messina.
Maximum temperatures in significant drop in central-southern regions and islands. Mistral winds from strong to strong on the surrounding islands and seas, moderate north-westerly winds on the central north; Foehn with gusts over 50 km/h in the Alpine valleys and on the lowland areas of the North-West. Seas: the basins around the islands, the central and southern Tyrrhenian Sea are very rough or agitated; moved or very moved the others.
Between Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 weather gradually improving
Until the early morning of Tuesday 28 possible weak rainfall scattered over Abruzzo, Molise and Puglia, with snow above about 800 m. Some rain also in Calabria and Messina. Mostly clear skies over the rest of Italy. During the morning, extensive clearing also in the South and from the afternoon sunny weather almost everywhere, with haze at high altitudes on the northern skies.

Seas: the Ligurian, the upper Adriatic and gradually also the upper Tyrrhenian are not moved; moved or locally very moved the other sectors.
Wednesday 29 stable time with large lightened initials, but with tendency to increase cloudiness in the Alps and in the Tyrrhenian regions, in extension to the rest of the Centre-North in the evening. The sunny spells will remain large in the South and on the Islands. In general, the probability of precipitation is low; some rain from the evening on central-eastern Liguria and upper Tuscany.
Minimum temperatures decreasing in the central-southern regions; highs on the rise in the Centre-North, in Puglia and Basilicata, stationary or slightly decreasing elsewhere. Light to moderate southerly winds. Slightly rough or locally rough seas.
