Swimmer Tes Schouten has again broken a Dutch record at international competitions in France. In the 100-meter breaststroke, 22-year-old Schouten improved the national top time to 1:05.92. She had held the record since December 2022 with 1:06.09. She won the race ahead of the Frenchwoman Charlotte Bonnet (1:07.76).
Schouten already improved the Dutch record in the 200 meter breaststroke at the competitions in Saint-Germain-en-Laye in France. She won the distance in 2:23.28 and was slightly faster than at the end of last year in Rotterdam, when Schouten improved the national record by no less than 2.5 seconds (2:23.67).
Schouten swam last week at competitions in Marseille as the first Dutch swimmer in the 100-meter breaststroke below the limit for next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
Arno Kamminga was also successful twice in Saint-Germain-en-Laye. He triumphed on Sunday in 2:11.41 in the 200-meter breaststroke and won the 100-meter breaststroke on Saturday in 1:00.56. Marrit Steenbergen was successful on Sunday at 200 meters free in 1.57.71. Steenbergen finished third in the 100 meter free on Saturday in 54.19, behind the Swedish winner Sarah Sjöström and Béryl Gastaldello from France.
