Cuban actress Ana de Armas, nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in “Blonde,” revealed that she “never” imagined being nominated by the Hollywood Academy.
“I never imagined being here, I only dreamed of it, especially with such a special role and project”De Armas assured.
Regarding Marilyn Monroe, the actress explained that she was an “incandescent person with a lot of love” who cannot be imitated, so her role was limited to trying to “capture her essence and make it as human and real as possible.”

Ana de Armas competed for the golden statuette in this category with Cate Blanchett (“Tár”), Andrea Riseborough (“To Leslie”), Michelle Williams (“The Fabelmans”) and Michelle Yeoh (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”), the latter winner in its category.
Likewise, the actress stressed that she feels “very excited and proud” to be the only Latina representative in this Oscar installment and because she has fans supporting her “from Spain to Cuba passing through Los Angeles.”
Finally, he wanted to send a message to his younger followers, who also want to get to Hollywood: “It’s important to have dreams, it doesn’t matter so much where you were born. You have to take risks, get out of your comfort zone, even if people oppose it.”
The 95th edition of the Hollywood Academy Awards were held this Sunday at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles (USA) from 5:00 p.m. local time (00:00 GMT on Monday) with comedian Jimmy Kimmel as master of ceremonies.
