Alpinestars develops and revisits the “modular” touring jacket concept with the new AMT-10 LAB Drystarwhich has the particularity of waterproof bodice (composed of a polyamide+elastane laminated membrane), which is fixed externally with a zip/clip and which can be removed and stowed in the large elasticated mesh pocket on the back, making the “basic item” usable in the warmer seasons. The latter, in 450D polyester (also) laminated, is provided with large mesh inserts and it can be considered to all intents and purposes a summer garment, but well equipped: made of high tenacity Matrix fabric, it features leather reinforcements with Kevlar Flynet, Nucleon Flex Pro protectors, predisposition for the Tech-Air 5 airbag system and stretch elements in Rideknite with variable thickness, for a better fit.
The membrana DrystarXF with which the AMT (acronym that stands for Alpinestars Motion Technology, the name given to a new range of high tech garments) is provided, however, provides superior breathability by incorporating a hydrophilic structure in which water vapor is conveyed to the outside ensuring a quick drying. And again, always in waterproof configuration, the AMT-10 jacket features direct ventilation on the chest which can be increased by opening the zips, at mid-length, which offer moderate ventilation.
Not having the membrane on its own, this jacket can be considered a “2-layer”, in which the second layer is represented by the Thermal Liner, sold separately, made with Ripstop, Artic fleece and PrimaLoft padding on the body (100 g) and sleeves (80 g) and equipped with two external zipped pockets and two internal mesh pockets. Also featured in the main jacket are ergonomically designed waterproof cargo pockets for instant access and highly functional magnetic zippers. Available the standard version (not LAB), all black (749.95 euros), and the AMT-10R designed for adventouring (849.95 euros). Sizes from S to 4XL.
The jacket is CE Category II certified in accordance with the pre-standard EN17092 – class AA.
Prices: 849.95 euros (base unit + membrane); €159.95 (Thermal Liner)
