In a raid that was carried out on Sunday (19/3/23) in the morning, officers managed to arrest dozens of teenagers who drove motorized vehicles that did not meet specifications.
during raids at a number of points such as in the Ponorogo Square area, Jalan Trunojoyo, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, and Jalan Diponegoro. During this activity, a number of teenagers seemed to be trying to avoid and run away from the officers.
Head of the Turjawali Traffic Unit of the Ponorogo Police, Ipda Bagus Sulistyono explained that the raid was carried out to control vehicles that did not meet the specifications, and also to anticipate wild racing.
“The target for the raid this time was motorized vehicles that did not meet specifications, visible violations to the completeness of the documents,” he said

In this raid, a total of 41 vehicles were secured, with details of 36 vehicles being fined, while 5 vehicles were only given warnings.
From the officers’ data collection, the majority of teenagers who were caught were under 17 years old, while only a few were over 17 years old.
“There are those who are 18 years old, but only one or two children are on average still underage and there are still many who attend junior high and high school. Of the dozens that we have secured, the majority are Ponorogo residents, but earlier there were also those from Wonogiri, Trenggalek, Madiun and even Magetan,” he said.
The teenagers who were caught were given a warning and told to complete the paperwork, then return to their respective homes. There are several teenagers who come from outside Ponorogo Regency, such as Magetan, Madiun, Trenggalek, Pacitan, and Wonogiri Regencies, Central Java.
The Ponorogo Police Traffic Unit explained that they always carry out raids every Saturday night as an effort to protect the younger generation.
