Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz reached the final of the Indian Wells tennis tournament on Saturday. The 19-year-old defeated Italian Jannik Sinner in straight sets: 7-6 (4) 6-3.
Alcaraz will face Daniil Medvedev in the final. The Russian won against American Frances Tiafoe earlier in the day 7-5 7-6 (4).
If Alcaraz takes the title in Indian Wells, he will replace Novak Djokovic at the top of the world rankings again. The Serb is missing in California and next week in Miami, because he refuses to be vaccinated against the corona virus. Djokovic is therefore not allowed to enter the United States.
