The police received a report of the stabbing around 11:15 p.m. and that the perpetrator may have wanted to stab more people, says a spokeswoman. Officers arrived quickly and saw the suspect walking with a knife.
Arrested in ten minutes
Because the man did not immediately surrender, they fired shots. The suspect was not injured as a result. He was arrested within ten minutes, a police spokeswoman told ANP news agency. According to AT5, the suspect could be stopped thanks to a stun gun.

During the incident, panic broke out around the station for a short time, as can be seen on images shared on social media. People ran after the police fired several shots and tried to find a safe haven in the station.

The victim was taken to hospital with a stab wound. According to AT5, he would be in serious condition. Nothing is known about the motive of the perpetrator.
