The 7-a-side football tournament created by the former Barça centre-back reaches its final act today, the Final Four, with creepy numbers
March 26 – Madrid
Ninety thousand spectators at the Camp Nou, one and a half million people connected through the different social platforms. These are the incredible numbers of the Kings League finals, the 7-a-side football tournament created by Gerard Piqué which today reaches its conclusion with the Final Four played in what until last autumn was the stadium of the former Barça centre-back. An incredible show with football, semi-finals and final, accompanied by a thousand other things.
Champions League welcome
—
The players of the four teams all arrived on the same bus, welcomed by an incredible crowd, with the atmosphere of the great Champions League matches of Barcelona. For the presidents of the four finalists a special treatment: accompanied by Piqué they arrived at the Camp Nou by helicopter. They then got into a golf cart driven by the ex-footballer with Gerard also carrying the trophy on his platform. A 7-a-side football field was designed on the lawn, with the presidents who each had their own corner from which to broadcast their emotions live. Because these are streamers with more or less audiences, who have been chosen precisely for their communication skills. Each on their own channel, between Twitch and YouTube, and all under the Kings League umbrella.
Laporta present
—
Among the illustrious spectators were the president of Barcelona and host Joan Laporta, David Villa as well as Kun Aguero and Iker Casillas, as presidents of two of the 12 teams that took part in the first edition of the Kings League. Their teams were eliminated before the final four, but all the presidents were present for the final show. Neymar, a great friend of Piqué, was also connected at home, who intervened in streaming.
Lots of music
—
The public appreciated the show between music and football. Present two highly appreciated Argentine singers, Tiago Pzk and Lali, and four rappers who challenged each other in battles of rhymes in two one against one with the microphone in what in Spain they call “batalla de gallos”. And then the show on its own channels, with crazy numbers. The Kings League was a triumph from the first to the last day, and the adventure has only just begun. The women’s edition, the Queens League, is scheduled, but Piqué wants to create a Champions League with tournaments in other countries. He couldn’t start stronger.
