The Swiss triumphs in the last slalom before the World Cup. First historic podium for Greece with the former American recovering from 23rd place. Noel out
An incredible comeback, the first podium in history for Greece, the return to success of Zenhaeusern and the exit of Noel, in the lead after the first heat. The Chamonix slalom, the last race before the World Cup, offers emotions and surprises.
After a heat with all the qualifiers within a second and 7 tenths it was pure entertainment. Guessing the heat of his life is the 28-year-old American who has been competing for Greece since 2020: starting with 46, 23rd after the first heat, Ginnis set the best time in the second, only approached by Zenhaeusern, the only one to be able to overtake him in a race that gave surprises. Five of the top ten from the first heat went out, including Kristoffersen – who is missing the pass on Braathen in the specialties classification – and above all Noel, who had recorded the fastest time.
Here comes Vinny

The winner in the end is the Swiss giant Ramon Zenhaeusern, who had been dry since December 2022, when he won in Alta Badia. Precise and very fast in the finale, he finished in 1’42″94 and was full of confidence in view of the World Championships. The other Swiss Daniel Yule also climbed onto the podium, at 1″06, finishing behind Ginnis (at 1″04) and ahead of McGrath (at 1″38) and Foss Solevaag (at 1″40) .
Alex Vinatzer is also back in the 10, who crossed the finish line on the ground after slipping at the last gate. In the end he is eighth at 1″77, a step forward after exits and mistakes in the last few races. Tommaso Sala is eleventh (at 2″), Simon Maurberger 19th in a race in which 23 athletes out of the 30 at the start in the second heats.
