According to Vin Diesel, Robert Downey Jr. would be the antithesis of Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious saga
The craziest and most successful action saga in cinema in recent years continues to add more actors to its roster. If it already had a few stars forming the cast, now the absolute protagonist of the franchise, Vin Dieselwants to get the services of Robert Downey Jr. to play a billionaire tycoon in the technology industry, in the purest Tony Stark style.
Hence the Stark in the headline, since, saving the differences, the role that he wants to offer the actor who has played Iron Man would be very similar to the character he has played in Marvel Studiosat least as far as profession is concerned.
When in an interview promoting the upcoming premiere of ‘Fast X‘, the tenth installment of the saga, Variety asked him what his ideal cast would be like for future installments, to which Diesel responded without hesitation and straight to the point: Robert Downey Jr.
Diesel:
“Without telling you too much about what happens in the future, there is a character who is the antithesis of Dom who is promoting AI and self-driving cars, and a philosophy that with that ends your freedom. There is someone who believes that this is the future, and that clashes head-on with Toretto’s mentality.”
When asked if he had already spoken to the actor about joining the franchise, Diesel said between laughs:
“How dare you ask me this question in front of all these people? I have pride and I have dignity.”
