The couple of actors shared on social networks their excitement about returning to the Bad Boys franchise for the long-awaited fourth installment
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence revealed yesterday that they will definitely team up again for a fourth Bad Boys movie, a film that is currently in pre-production with the directors of Bad Boys for LifeAdil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner.
You can see the posts of the actors below:
Before Covid locked down the world in March 2020, the third film in the franchise, Bad Boys for Life, grossed more than $426 million at the global box office; With a four-day US opening of 73 million, the photo marked MLK’s second-biggest weekend ever. In total, the Bad Boys franchise has 840.7 million at the worldwide box office.
Bad Boys for life paved the way for a continuation in its post-credits scene, but the pandemic, and Smith’s slap to Chris Rock at the Oscars last year, left everything a bit up in the air, although Sony was was quick to confirm that there would be a fourth Bad Boys movie, now two years later it’s all a joy to see the duo reunite to announce that pre-production is underway. The only thing we hope is that good old Lawrence gets a little more in tune than he was in the previous installment.
Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad and Chad Oman return to produce; Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone serve as executive producers.
El Arbi and Fallah recently directed and co-wrote the feature Rebelde, which portrays a family divided by the future of a Muslim child and had its world premiere at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. On television, the directing pair served as executive producers and directors of the pilot and the Disney+ series finale, Ms. Marvel, which remains the highest-rated Marvel project (for both movies and series) on Rotten Tomatoes as of the moment.
