Xbox and Tango Gameworks surprised big with Hi-Fi RUSH, a title that debuted suddenly and instantly won gamers’ approval. Some fans believe that the franchise has a lot of potential for other projects, including a possible sequel. So John Johanas, its director, talked about what might be on the way.
During an interview with MinnMax (via eXputer), the creative assured that he has nothing planned yet, since the game has just debuted. However, he believes that there are opportunities for other projects. Surprisingly, he revealed that he would like to see more of a Hi-Fi RUSH series than a sequel as such.

Creative would rather make a Hi-Fi RUSH series than a sequel
Johanas was asked about the type of project he would like to see in the future of Hi-Fi RUSH. The creative believes that a television series would be something very interesting, so he would rather do that than develop a sequel, at least for now.
He emphasized that the game has only been on the market for a very short time and that it is too early to talk about what is coming. Likewise, he clarified that they currently have nothing planned, so neither a series nor a sequel are guaranteed.
“A TV show sounds really cool, I don’t know who would do it, someone somewhere would make it happen. But, right now we don’t have anything resolved, the game just came out,” Johanas said.
While the idea of a TV series sounds very appealing, some fans believe that a sequel would be the right way to go. Especially due to the success and quality of the title, which could well become a solid franchise for Xbox.
Other fans believe that any project is good as long as Hi-Fi RUSH stays active. We know that Johanas is leaning towards a series, but this does not rule out a possible sequel in the future.
