Armored Core VI promises to satisfy fans of the saga and FromSoftware
Ogura knows that a decade has passed since the release of the last installment in the saga, so he apologized to fans for the long wait. Likewise, he thanked them for their patience and promised that it will be a fabulous game that will respect the essence of the franchise.
For this reason, the core of the game will be the creation and customization of mechas. He affirmed that they will use everything they have learned during the last 10 years for the development of the project, since the creation of games such as the installments of Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and ELDEN RING changed them.
“The experience and knowledge that our game designers and developers have accumulated through these titles could be used in this game,” said the creative.
He emphasized that Armored Core VI will be independent from the previous installment, so any player can enjoy it even if they are not yet familiar with the series. Regarding the difficulty, he explained that the title will be challenging like other games from the studio, but with some important nuances.
Our approach to the issue of difficulty level in Armored Core VI is slightly different from other titles, as the most distinctive feature of the Armored Core series is the combination of parts to customize the player’s mecha (…) The key is really the adjustment of these parts to overcome difficulties within the game. This is the point we put more emphasis on in combination with the action system. We have designed a game that rewards using the most appropriate actions in each situation to overcome difficulties and achieve a sense of achievement,” added Ogura.
He anticipated that the boss battles will be very exciting and challenging. Lastly, he revealed that Armored Core VI was intended as a single player campaign game, but that it will also have some online elements, such as an online combat arena. He assured that they will later delve into this topic. Below you can see the full interview:
