There is a theme that flies over all social relationships: Time. Yes, with capital letters and with its own entity. I have met few people who are enthusiastic about the weather and, nevertheless, it is a wild topic in the face of uncomfortable silences, with the neighbor in the elevator, with family and friends. And the best examples are the virality of the predictions or the fact that their own television spaces have not stopped growing, with presenters who make the leap to new formats and, ahem, musical styles.
And to satisfy so many people, Android Auto and Automotive is the next battleground for weather forecasts. Until now, Weatherology offered a service with important limitations, such as the fact that we could only receive the information by audio. Now, Tiempo&Radar comes to improve that experience.
The application, as our colleagues from Xataka Android explain, is the first to offer content about weather forecasts and that it is fully compatible with the screen of our car, through Android Auto and Automotive. With its update to version 2023.3.1 you can now check the expected time during our journeys.
In the video above you can see how the application is handled on the car’s own screen, showing the rain forecast at that time, but also the snow (painted pink), the freezing rain (salmon color) or the sun’s rays (with the usual icon of the maps we see on television.
In addition, the Weather&Radar application also supports the split screen of Android Auto and Automotive Coolwak, so thanks to the radar we can check the weather that we can find in our path at the same time that we drive the navigation of our vehicle or the music that is playing.
Starting this year, Coolwalk is already available to users whose vehicles and phones are compatible with this Android Auto redesign that allows splitting the screen to control and view two features at the same time. And the integration is even better in those vehicles whose infotainment is already based on Android Automotive, its own in-car operating system.
