In the video, Alexandra also reveals that a sixth season has not yet been officially confirmed. “Let’s hope so,” she says.
The fifth season has been filming for a while and will take place between July and November of 2022. In October of 2022, the cast will even celebrate another special milestone: the recording of the fiftieth episode of Virgin River.
There is a good chance that the fifth season will look a lot different than previous seasons. The showrunner of the series, Sue Tenney, is leaving to focus on other projects. The upcoming series has therefore been taken over by Patrick Sean Smith.
Virgin River is about Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), who applies for a job as a nurse in the remote California town of Virgin River. She thinks this is the perfect place to start over and leave her painful memories behind. But she soon discovers that small town life isn’t as easy as she expected and that she must first learn to come to terms with herself before she can truly make Virgin River her home.
